Born and raised in New York City, Alexa Nicole found her unique upbringing to propel her to explore her artistic talents at The Art Students League of New York, The School of Visual Arts, and Fashion Institute of Technology. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business in 2020.

During her youth, Alexa would spend her summers traveling locally and abroad. From short road trips to the Hamptons and Montauk, to long plane and cruise rides to exotic islands in the Caribbean and Europe like Tortola, Capri, Mykonos, and Rhodes, Alexa’s inspiration stems from the combination of the beauty of mother nature and architecture. She embraces calmness from the beaches and tone and texture from the land.

Alexa works with premium canvas and mixed mediums. Her paintings are focused with acrylic paint, stone, and paste.

“I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember. I used to make my own clothes out of paper when I was as young as 3, and always had either color pencils or a camera by my side. My flip phone and small compact digital camera were my go-to’s. I even designed and handmade jewelry for a little business I ran in high school and half of college.

I started to tap into photography more seriously when I was 14. I used to take my mother’s Nikon around NYC and shoot photos of architecture design, and ‘owned’ the camera on family vacations. It came with me everywhere. I picked up painting when I was 18 randomly one night during a semester break in university. I discovered my style as a result of accidentally buying a thick acrylic paste instead of my normal paint. Then I started to get creative and add other mediums as well such as stones.

Overall, I love capturing mother nature at her finest moments or translating her emotions in my paintings. I am very connected to her and feel this sense of peace when I bring her into my art.”
