NLU / LLM for UX

Natural Language Understanding: (LUIS, Rasa)

  • UX Convos/ Writing: looks at consistency of tone and terminology in user vocabulary, chat bots and conversations, detect exclusive and biased language
    • Intent is authentication help if user types “I cannot submit”
  • User Insights: user feedback on reviews and surveys, support from chats and tickets, qualitative data topic modeling
    • Brings user to next flow or gives users options to choose from (fetches content)
  • Prototyping: understanding inputs in chatbots and voice controls

Large Language Models: (GPT, Gemini)

  • UX Convos/ Writing: writes in many tones and languages, brainstorms types of error messaging tooltips/ hints, and generates FAQ guides, generate human-like dialogue, simplify content into simpler language
    • Would read feedback and summarize it and tailor it dynamically
  • User Insights: summarizing long-form interviews for research, generate personas, translate feedback
    • Writes a responses and rewrites content
  • Prototyping: generating realistic inputs or questions, simulating users for testing and conversations, and auto-generating a/b tests
